I’m Kieza.

I build GTM functions and scalable operations for start-ups with small teams and big ambitions.

My Mission

To de-mystify go-to-market for ambitious founders and equip them with the strategies, tools, and resources they need to build a successful start-up.

Why it matters

Founders are the builders of the future and entrepreneurship is the gateway to freedom. Without the right support, strategies, and expertise, promising start-ups that would have otherwise changed the world end up in the graveyard. They’ll have more of a fighting chance if they are equipped to overcome common, avoidable pitfalls in the early days.

I’m what you call a Generalist.

With over a decade of experience as an entrepreneur, I help start-ups navigate their early stage growth journey. My approach combines data driven insights with creative problem-solving to drive early growth.

I started my career fresh out of school, hustling and selling tonal portrait drawings to my peers for £5 each to earn some extra cash during the summer holidays.

In my earlier years I became a Lewisham Young Mayor, ran an award winning enterprise society at University, and founded a textile printing and merchandise business which I operated for 10 years which I grew to ~ £300k in annual sales by year two.

Through my diverse experiences, I developed skills, tools and resources that make me highly adaptable in fast-paced start-up environments.

I love building things from scratch, breathing life into great ideas that I believe need to exist, and working with smart, engaging, ambitious people to do it.

I work with start-ups and small businesses to help them grow in various capacities across business functions, including operations, marketing, sales, strategy, recruitment, finance and more.

The story so far

I became the Lewisham Young Mayor in 2010, running an election campaign against 24 other candidates. Then, I studied Graphic Design at De Montfort University where I won the Business Venture Competition (now called Pitch 2 Win), launched my first business, ran the Enterprise Society (WIRE DMU) - won the Best Society Promotions award - and graduated with a 2:1.

2010 to 2014

I went back to Uni to study an MA in Design Management & Entrepreneurship. During this time I worked two part time jobs and grew my business to ~ £120k in annual revenue.

I had the privilege of designing and producing the uniforms for the inauguration or Baroness Doreen Lawrence as Chancellor of the University. Then I become a dad and moved back to London.

2015 to 2018

Started again from scratch with nothing. Bootstrapped my second merch company to ~ £300k in annual revenue by year 2 in my mid twenties.

Built a small team and produced clothing and merchandise products for artists, musicians, creators, and brands like Spotify, YouTube, UMG, Printworks London, WSTRN, Amaarae, Tori Lanez, and many others.

2019 to 2022

I shut down the merch co due to burnout and running out of cash, then started freelancing as a growth consultant to help start-up founders avoid my pitfalls.

Soon after, I co-founded The Generalist Company - an agency that matches fast-growth start-ups with talented operators, and Plugged Founders - a community where ambitious founders make friends.
